Root Canal Therapy
While teeth are hard calcified objects, they are not completely solid. In the inner most aspect of every tooth there lies a hollow space which, when a tooth is healthy, contains the nerve tissue.
This tissue can become damaged for a number of reasons, including trauma and decay. If damaged, root canal therapy may be the only way to save the tooth.
This process involves anesthetizing the tooth to ensure patient comfort, gently removing the nerve, shaping the hollow space, or canal, and placing an antimicrobial filling material to seal the tooth and prevent bacterial leakage.
